I
am pleased to announce that Red Bluff Tumor Institute has acquired and
implemented the fully integrated IMRT (Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy).
Purchased over a year ago from Siemens Medical Corporation, this was installed
between May and October, 2002 and fully implemented in November, 2002.
Our
upgraded Siemens Primus linear accelerator has the state-of-the-art multi-leaves
collimator linked and powered by our record and verify system Lantis with
Primeview ( which is an upgraded system from IMPAC). Our IMRT treatment planning
system is provided by ADAC Pinnacle III upgraded IMRT system (which is the gold
standard for the past 10 years with 3-D treatment Planning). Our software with
Siemens and Lantis is continuously upgraded in order to stay current at the
cutting edge of technology.
Red Bluff Tumor Institute placed a great emphasis on training of our personnel for the past year in order to completely grasp the high technology implemented here at Red Bluff Tumor Institute. This has been done for the past year with great efforts in order to correctly and fully implement the IMRT technology.
Since November, 2002, we have successfully treated a number of cases including prostate carcinoma and other pelvic tumors, breast carcinoma, and selected lung carcinoma with very minimal morbidity and great success. Our linear accelerator, Siemens Primus fully integrated multi-leaves collimator with Lantis and Primeview record and verify system and our ADAC Pinnacle III 3-D/IMRT upgrade treatment planning system, is among the very best equipment available today.

The PRIMUS® linear accelerator was introduced in 1996. A technologically advanced treatment delivery system, PRIMUS is capable of delivering routine and advanced treatments. All PRIMUS systems offer the best patient clearance for treatment of the most complex treatment plans in a compact design that will fit into the smallest of treatment rooms. The PRIMUS is modular and completely upgradeable, allowing customers to purchase just the capabilities they need now. PRIMATOM System The PRIMATOMTM System is the first commercially available combination of an imaging modality and a treatment delivery system designed specifically for Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT).
